About the Event
The speaker is a post-doctoral research fellow at the University of Cambridge.
To quote her,
"I am a statistician working on models and analysis to understand the data we obtain from exciting experiments in genomics. That is, I do some mathematics, write a lot of code, and talk a lot to people from a different discipline, which I find super cool and enriching. I am particularly interested in using the power of mathematics to model the huge and highly complex datasets generated by recent and emerging technologies in biology. I also use mathematics to plan biological experiments in a more efficient way to reduce costs and maximise the information we can gain. Moreover, I teach statistics and probability to undergraduate students. Before my current position, I did a Ph.D. in statistics, after enjoying teaching Mathematics, Physics, and English at secondary school for a number of years."
